How the Resize for Social Media tool works

Each social media platform has its own image dimensions. Instagram feed images render at 1080 × 1350 (4:5 portrait). LinkedIn posts at 1200 × 1200 (square). TikTok and Stories at 1080 × 1920 (9:16 vertical). Pictuary's Resize for Social Media tool crops your image to the exact pixel dimensions for any of 10 major platforms, or to custom dimensions if you need a non-standard size.

The tool center-anchors the crop, which means content in the center of your source image is preserved. Edges are removed if the source aspect ratio doesn't match the target. The output is delivered as JPEG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF, with EXIF metadata stripped and the original deleted within 15 minutes.

Use Resize for Social Media when you have an image at any size and need it at exactly the right dimensions for a specific platform — no manual cropping or resizing required.

Step by step

  1. Upload your image

Drop your image into the upload area or click to browse. JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and HEIC up to 10 MB are supported.

  2. Choose Resize for Social Media

Select the social tool from the options.

  3. Pick a platform preset or enter custom dimensions

Choose Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Threads, Bluesky, or X — each with feed, stories, and profile presets where applicable. Or switch to custom mode and enter any width × height up to 8000 × 8000 pixels.

  4. Choose output format

Most social platforms re-encode uploads on ingestion, so JPEG at quality 85+ or WebP at quality 80 are reasonable defaults.

  5. Download the cropped image

Click Download to save the correctly-sized file. The original is deleted from Pictuary's servers within 15 minutes. EXIF data is removed automatically before delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Which social media platforms are supported?

Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Threads, and Bluesky. Each platform has presets for feed, stories, profile, and other surface types where applicable. Verified dimensions are kept current — see the Social Media Image Sizes guide.

Can I use custom dimensions instead of a preset?

Yes. Switch to custom mode and enter any width × height up to 8000 × 8000 pixels.

What aspect ratio works best for Instagram in 2026?

Portrait 4:5 (1080 × 1350) is the recommended feed format in 2026 — Meta now prioritizes portrait over square in feed reach. Stories and Reels remain 9:16 (1080 × 1920).

Will my image be cropped or stretched?

Cropped, never stretched. Pictuary center-anchors the crop, which means content in the middle of your source image is preserved and edges are trimmed if the source aspect ratio does not match the target.

Where can I find verified dimensions for every platform?

See the Social Media Image Sizes guide — verified dimensions for every major platform, with safe-zone notes for Stories and Reels.
